Annwyl Parent/Carer,

Class 11 - Dobsarth Pontrhydyfen (Miss Vaughan), Class 12 - Dosbarth Merthyr Tydfil (Mrs Cook/Miss Kennedy), Class 15 - Dosbarth Tenby (Ms Meyer) and Class 16 - Dosbarth Rhossili (Miss Wilkinson) will be visiting Barry Island Beach on Friday 10th July 2026.  

Children can bring money in an envelope labelled with their name for spending money. We recommend between £2.50-£5 (please no more than £5).  

The cost of this trip is £7.50 per child with support from the Friends of Pontnewydd and is payable via CivicaPay.  Please log into your child's account and make the payment by clicking on the trip. https://education.civicapayments.co.uk/ 

The trip will take place during school time and pupils will need to bring plenty of drinks to keep hydrated, a packed lunch (or please indicate below if you would like your child to be provided with a free school meal packed lunch) with no glass bottles.  Pupils should wear school uniform with sensible footwear and clothing that is suitable for the weather on the day e.g. a waterproof coat/sun hat and sun cream. Year 6 pupils do not need to wear a shirt/blouse and tie. Please can they wear a blue or yellow t-shirt and bring their leavers' hoodie so they are identifiable as part of our school group.

If your child requires medication (e.g. asthma pump, epi-pen etc.) please ensure they have it with them on the day, without it they will be unable to participate in the trip.
