In literacy our genre this term will be narrative- we will be studying The Lonely Bwbach and The Tin Forest. We can't wait for our showcase before Easter to show you everything we have been learning in Blwyddyn Pedwar!
Here are some important dates relating to our learning this term! Please check Class Dojo weekly to see some of your children's favourite learning from the week!

“ Together we will embark on building a curriculum that embraces four key purposes, supporting children and young people. “
The children will learn about these through our four characters. The children will be taught to be like:
- Ambitious Aled someone who is a capable learners ready to learn throughout their lives;
- Enterprising Elen, someone who is a creative contributor, ready to play a full part in life and work;
- Ethical Eleri, someone who is an informed citizen of Wales and the world; and
Healthy Harri, someone who is a confident individual, ready to lead fulfilling lives as a valued member of society.
PE days- Our PE day is on a Monday. Please can the children wear their PE kits to school on these days. PE kits should be appropriate clothing using suitable footwear. Every fortnight we undertake Expressive Arts and PE kit will be necessary on this day.
For reading, in school we follow a scheme called Accelerated Reader. The children use an online reading comprehension to find their level. The children then choose a book within that level to bring home to read. Reading books are to be returned on a daily basis. We teach reading in school every day and need their reading books.
Homework- google classroom
Homework will be given out on a Friday on google classroom. Spellings will also be given out Fridays and the children tested the following Friday. Below is a link to the HWB website where you can access J2easy, J2Blast and Google classroom. Pupils are aware of their details to access these areas to undertake learning at home.
Our pupils in Pontnewydd Primary School are undertaking a 'Fifty Fun Activities before 11' project which is recommended by The National Trust. We are completing many of these fantastic activities this year in Year 4. Take a look at some of the pictures below!
