Nursery

We took part in World Book Day and carried out a fundraising event. We had a pancake party and made pancakes.We had many celebrations including, Eisteddfod, Red Nose Day and Mother's day. We loved sharing our learning with our parents and families as showcase.

Reception

For World Book Day we used previous learnt skills to save the veggies from SuperTato! We had a visit from an author. We went to Aldi to buy food for our Special Lady Afternoon Tea. We prepared for and invited our special ladies in for our afternoon tea.

Year 1

Year l

We had an author that visited our school. We got to play with Caring Canines. We done some scarf dancing. All of us got to taste pancakes! We celebrated eisteddfod and learnt a Welsh song about what we like. 

 

Year 2

In year 2 we had an author visit us, to talk about books and to talk about the books they wrote! We had a visit from caring canines which was really fun! In the eisteddfod we performed in front of the whole school! We shown our parents and carers all our wonderful work in our showcases. And lastly, we had cookery sessions making pancakes and pizzas! It was yummy!!

Year 3

We have continued with our Pennywhistle lessons and on the 31st March we will be performing in front of KS2.  We completed a postbox treasure hunt as part of our adventurous activities.   We took part in the Eisteddfod performing in front of the school and taking part in art, handwriting and a poetry recital.   We had our Roman showcase assembly.

An author came in on World Book Day.  Some of our glee children went to Cwmbran House.

 

Year 4

We celebrated Welsh Week by designing Welsh love spoons, learning about Welsh Castles and learning a Welsh poem called “Dau Gi Bach”. We have also learnt the Welsh version of Old Mcdonald. We have made Stuart Houses using a range of materials and learnt a traditional Stuart Dance. We wrote our own poems about Wales and have continued reading the Welsh story “The Midwinter Wizard”. We are writing our own extracts of the story. We have had Animals Interactive come into school to do a workshop with the children. We have been exploring Stuart Artwork and have been learning about The English Civil War. In Maths we have been exploring multiplication and Division. We also had an author visit to celebrate World Book Day.

SNRB

 

This month we celebrated St David’s Day. We worked hard in our Eisteddfod pieces. We learnt some interesting facts about John Fielding too. We celebrated WBD by dressing up as characters from our favourite books. We enjoyed listening to McGrammer and we started to read his new book in class. Our year six pupils visited Crucial Crew and enjoyed visiting all the different stations. We have also really enjoyed our science lessons learning all about our bodies and what our different organs do. 

 

 

Year 5

 

For the Eisteddfod we learnt a GOAT song which is nursery rhyme which was great fun and performed it there and at showcases.  During welsh week we calculated the amount of ingredients needed for welsh cakes and to see how accurate we were we made some. We celebrated WBD with an author.  We shared our ballroom dancing, all about our topic Cynefin with families with some Victoria Sponge.  We were involved in a dancing competition with Mrs George, Glee visited Cwmbran House.  We worked so hard on using technology especially Adobe in class when making logos for Florence Nightingale, webpages for a biography for Charles Dickens too.

We enjoyed Comic Relief together.  Worked in Exp Arts on William Morris and began to make designs for printing wallpaper.

Year 6

We visited the TA building where lots of organisation taught us how to keep safe. We had a visit from Madison's granddad who taught us all about being a boy in WW2. We took part in our Eisteddfod where we competed in a poetry recital, art and handwriting competition. Some of us took part in a netball, football and dance competition. We all did well in completing our WW2 presentation on a significant person.  Also we preformed a small show for our parents in our showcase. We had a great term.
